I have grown up with strong women in my life, starting with my mom, two outstanding grandmothers, a great grandmother and several wonderful aunties (I’m from an Italian family!).
I was raised with the importance of family and I saw this continually modeled as the younger women in the family raised their children, assisting their mom’s and grandmother’s with life’s tasks. I have fond memories of spending quality time with my nanna (great grandmother who lived next door) and many others. So naturally, I have a special place in my heart for helping and supporting women.
Women have different needs than our male counterparts – we plan differently, we live longer (thanks Estrogen!), we are more in-tune to our health needs and tend to overestimate risk. Yet due to child rearing and other life decisions, women frequently take time away from their earning years thus earning less. This often attributes to a savings shortfall in life’s later stages.
Professionally speaking, I have experienced women clientele that have gone through some of life’s transitions, from losing a child, death of a parent, spouse or other loved one, divorce and family abandonment. There have been many tears of sadness and joy poured out in our meetings together with these ladies as I came alongside them and shared in their times of pain, grief, disbelief, anger, growth and transformation. I am blessed enough to say that I was a small part of helping these women find their footing, to provide a sense of direction during their time of need. There are no words to describe how each one of these situations has taught me and touched my life. Together with the above experiences, I can offer my own transitional experiences of: Marriage, Motherhood, Empty Nester (partially for a time), Homeowner, Business Owner, Death and many more. It is my joy to support, educate, serve, protect and help other women in transition.
